Argyle - the backyard game of area control and accuracy

Argyle is the backyard game of area control and accuracy.

It's best described as a light euro game played in your backyard. If you've ever wished yard games offered an experience closer to that of your favorite tabletop game, Argyle was made for you.

Argyle plays from 2-9 players in 2-3 teams. It lasts in about 30 minutes and is suitable for anyone from 6 years to 99.

Argyle is played in 3 identical rounds. Each round, players or teams take turns tossing their 9 balls into the play area, attempting to claim one of the 7 regions. At the end of each round points are given for each region that is owned. Some regions are worth more than others and there are special bonuses depending on the positioning of the final regions owned. You are also able to steal regions from other players and eliminate their balls from the round.

One of the highlights of the game is the comeback mechanic. Every ball that is thrown that does not land in the play area or claim a region returns to the hand of the thrower to be used on the next turn. Even a player that has thrown very poorly in the beginning of the round has a good chance at catching up... if they can land some accurate throws.

This is a beta version of Argyle handmade by me and using up-cycled golf balls. In the years to come I'd love to pursue full production runs, but right now I'm just concerned with introducing more dedicated backyard gamers to this great game. I'm also excited about the prospect of having a broader audience give feedback on the game. It has already been extensively play tested, but I know getting it into more back yards will open up new ideas and perspectives on everything from gameplay to manufacturing.
