Walk cycles are hard. I hope this video can help make them easier. We work through a method described by Richard Williams in The Animator's Survival Kit using tools in Adobe After Effects. This methods can be adapted to many characters and is the basis for most walk cycles you'll see. I hope it helps get you going with character animation.
