Drill finger cymbals with Audra in this straightforward and foundational approach to practicing basic patterns.
This practice session drills 7 basic finger cymbal patterns in simple drills, at a moderately slow speed which is perfect for beginner finger cymbal-ers. The patterns are introduced, the beat is felt and kept by walking in place, which is of course optional. If you're getting the hang of things stationary, we also walk in a simple forward and backwards cycle.
If you're new or pretty new to finger cymbals, this one's for you. If you know the patterns and need a simple practice to reinforce them in you, this one's for you.
If you can already play the patterns listed below AND feel the beat with your feet, this would be great review, or head over to Volume 2.
Included patterns are:
Beledi or 3 1 3 1 3
3 5 5
3 3 7
3 7 3
Singles (full time, half time, quarter time, double time and 16th notes)
These patterns are common throughout belly dance (traditional and tribal fusion), and are taught in Stage 1: Basic Black in The Dark Side Dance Program. They are used throughout all stages of The Dark Side Program, as well as the weekly classes at the studio.
