the sound of one hand clapping (homage to steve reich)
this piece uses the process of rhythmic shifting (or ‘phasing) as used by steve reich in his famous piece ‘clapping music’ (for two people). it’s a great rhythmic agility study and the good news is after learning this you should easily be able to play steve’s piece too. as with most of my pieces, please decide ‘in the moment’ how many repeats to do.
