Essentials in Spelling Grade 2

An introduction into cursive and spelling, Essentials in Spelling is reformatted from the 1919 Pearson series. The first 30 lessons are intensive, but gentle cursive instruction. Lessons 31 through the end continue to review cursive penmanship as the basic foundation is built for accurate spelling.  The spelling lessons contain high-frequency words applied in sentences in every lesson. In addition, practice with placing the phonograms into words reinforces the sight-sound phonetic relationships.  Students should be able to read at a beginning 2nd Grade Level and spell simple 3 letter words before beginning this program.
