ENROLLMENT IN THIS COURSE HAS ENDED. IT WILL OPEN AGAIN IN THE FALL.
A Novel Idea is an intensive, comprehensive, DIY-MFA-level, year-long course that will take you through planning, writing, editing, and submitting your book.
Why Should you listen to me?
My name is Shaunta Grimes. My novels Viral Nation and Rebel Nation were published by Penguin in 2013 and 2014. I've studied creative writing at the University of Nevada and at Goddard College.
What to Expect
Over the course of a year, you'll plan, write, edit, polish, and prepare your first (or next) manuscript for sending out to literary agents. You'll also have your next novel plotted and ready to write.
And, you'll be part of an amazing group of writers who will become your greatest cheerleaders and accountability partners. I'll hold office hours throughout the course to answer all of your questions. This isn't one of those courses where you get the info, but you're on your own. I'll be there with you every step of the way.
Why A Novel Idea is Perfect for You
Getting to The End of your first novel is major. Once you've done it, you know that you can do it again. And again. And again.
And that, my friend, is how you build a writing career.
If you follow the course and complete all of the assignments, you will finish your book. And you'll learn techniques that will help you with every single book you write for the rest of your life.
The Plotting Workshop--the first stage of A Novel Idea, will start as soon as you've purchased the course. If you're already enrolled in The Plotting Workshop, the writing course will start as soon as you're done with the workshop.
Sign up right now to get:
1. Immediate access to the private Facebook page.
2. Matched up with another Ninja Writer so that you can inspire and keep each other accountable. (This happens in the first week of May.)
3. A copy of The Plotting Workshop eBook.
This isn't one of those courses where you sign up and never hear anything from the instructor again. I'll be there to mentor you along the way. You'll be invited to share some of your work every week and have the opportunity to workshop with fellow students. I read and give feedback on every share.
I work the program along with the class. This is the EXACT method I use for writing and editing my own work.
I also hold weekly office hours on our Facebook group and you'll be able to reach me via email with questions.
Are you ready? Let's do this.
