I have a disease called celiac and I cannot eat gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and oats. Because soy sauce contains wheat flour in Japan, I cannot also eat anything made with soy sauce. I will become very ill if I eat food containing these main items (wheat, barley, rye, or soy sauce), or any food that contains with wheat flour, breadcrumbs, tamari, grain vinegar, tempura, miso made from barley, or bread. Does this food contain wheat flour, soy sauce, rye, or barley? I can eat food containing rice, soybeans, buckwheat (soba), yams, tapioca, potatoes, corn, any vegetables, seaweed, cheese, fruit, eggs, meat, chicken, or fish – so long as they are not cooked with wheat flour, soy sauce containing wheat flour. For soba noodles, I can only eat 100% soba with no wheat flour added. Thank you for your help in helping me avoid getting sick. I am sorry for any inconvenience but I have to be very careful when I eat food.
