Xylen Roberts-Essential Travel (Full Album; 2021)
Essential Travel is one of two albums I am releasing this month. It is the more experimental of the two; ranging from the post-jazz prog punk of 'When It Rains It Swings', the industrial avant-funk/hiphop of 'My God Machine' and 'Thagg Checka', the gothic post-metal of 'The Devil's Design', the microtonal new wave of 'Forcing The End' and beyond. In spite of this, there are the occasional less experimental moments, such as the garage rocking 'The Sunken Land Of Atlantis' or the late 90s trip hop of 'Dependence Day'. Lyrically the album continues my trademark redpilled conscious songwriting as I tackle everything from the tyranny of vaccine passport IDs ('Sunken Land') to lampooning Facebook 'fact checkers' ('Thagg Checka') to various poetic visions of our apocalyptic future ('When It Rains...', the title track, 'Forcing The End', 'Dependence Day') and more.
