Blender Vertex Paint 3 Layer Blendshader - Mix materials with Vertex Colors and Heightmaps

111 ratings

In thisĀ tutorial, I`m going to show you how to create a 3 layer blendshader that supports vertex painting using the red, green and blue vertex color channels on your mesh.

You will learn how to create the master shader from scratch and how to expose parameters so that you can easily change the look of your object from the material properties tab. If you are familiar with game engine workflows, this shader gives you the same controls with the ability to use displacement mapping using Cycles or real-time display with normal maps using Evee. You can find more images on artstation.

You`ll get:

Blender file containing the 3 layer blending setup (no textures) to use in your projects.
You can watch the full, 4k video on youtube.

How to use:

Disclaimer:

All textures in this video created by Quixel.
You need a Quixel subscription to use Megascans textures outside of Unreal Engine.
