You started playing roller derby... NOW WHAT?

It seems so easy in theory. You just strap some wheelie shoes on your feet and get to rolling. You get to be fierce. You get to be strong. You get to be a roller derby athlete.

And then you fall the first time.

(Or was it the third time? Or the thirteenth time? Or the thirtieth time!?)

And you start to think:

Roller derby attracts a lot of people that don't consider themselves to be particularly athletic.

It’s often a place where several of your teammates could truthfully say that they’ve never played a sport before in their lives. (In fact, maybe that’s you!)

You may find yourself watching the more experienced skaters on your league and wondering if you’ll ever be that athletic. Or if your form will ever look that good. Or if you can ever skate without falling down every 5 feet.

I know that feeling sucks, but...

THERE’S GOOD NEWS.

Anyone can develop the skills to be "athletic."

Looking, feeling, and performing athletically on-skates is a skill. Just like any other skill.

People that haven’t been in a sport before or been physically active before, CAN build the strength, stamina, and mobility to do everything they want to on-skates (or off). If you’re new to training or skating, you just have to approach learning how to skate -- and training your body to move like that -- in a different, more careful way.

Hi! I'm Prime.

The truth is that I came into roller derby with years of former athletic experience in my background. I’d been bending and stretching and hopping and running and being athletic for years before I decided to give skating a try.

I was already “athletic.”

Don’t get me wrong, I was still AWFUL at skating.

But I noticed something. My fellow former athletes and I picked up new skills and movements faster because our bodies were strong and mobile in ways that aren’t built-in everyday life.

It didn’t take long before I took a coaching role because I was convinced that my team could help new skaters succeed if we gave them a way to build their strength, stamina, and mobility off-skates too.

I spent years messing around with my own training and experimenting on every skater that would agree to act as my guinea pig. In fact, I wound up in school because I LOVED learning all of this stuff.

Turns out it doesn’t have to take hours in the weight room to build strong, athletic new skaters. It doesn’t have to cut into the super important time you spend actually skating. You don’t even need a ton of equipment.

It’s all about learning how to move your body for the sport that you play. That’s what will make you more athletic.

And the Stability & Mobility Program is focused specifically on helping you build your athletic foundation. Specifically:

  • Increase your overall stability and balance.
  • Get (and stay) lower while skating.
  • Start building your muscular endurance and strength.
  • Boost your bodily control (and your control on skates).

It focuses on the stability, strength, and mobility you need to make progress on skates every time you go to practice.

You Are An Athlete. Train Like One.

Each week you’ll get your program delivered to your inbox along with suggested calendars to follow. The program will be divided up into 3 separate phases to help you progress your stability and mobility as you train. No second-guessing, no complicated movements, just follow along.

The S&M exercises are effective, not difficult. Within the weekly training, PDFs are links to video tutorials to help guide you through the exercises and solidify your form. Watch the videos, follow the cues, and boost your athleticism.

Seriously. Pick the payment that best fits your budget and get all the PDFs delivered directly to your inbox.
