You can pay thousands of dollars to attend some courses to learn how to podcast if you like and may think it is some mystical mysterious thing as some might have you believe. Because of those expensive courses that I could never afford, I decided to create this "Learn to Podcast" training series of tutorial videos and bring it to the average person at a reasonable price. I guarantee you will learn just as much as those courses that may cost thousands of dollars with this "Learn to Podcast" training video series. Bottom line is that I will get you up and running with your podcast dream even if you have zero experience. So, save some money and let me, your Hi-Tech Redneck, teach you everything you need to know about podcasting.

In Session #2 we cover the differences between dynamic and condenser microphones and XLR vs. USB mics. We cover the pros and cons of each and what you may want to use for your podcast. I actually test two different XLR style dynamic microphones for you to show you the differences, so put your headphones on and take a listen for yourself. These microphones vary in price and sound of course. One is a high level XLR style dynamic microphone that I use and the others are mid level XLR style dynamic microphones that I use for my guests when recording my podcasts.

We will get in depth on the different levels of equipment and prices. I give you different options depending on how serious you want to start and how much money you want to spend. I don't try and force you into any particular high end broadcast studio package or equipment, but I expose your options, so it all depends on you.

I started podcasting from my daughter's closet with nothing more than an iPad mini, an IOS app, and a cheap condenser microphone. I will show you how you can start that way if you like or even more humbly. I have since worked my way up to higher end equipment and now have a broadcast/media studio in my home.

I go over in detail each and every piece of equipment. that I currently use in my broadcast/media studio along with prices. I cover the pros and cons of certain equipment and how it might be used. I discuss external device type recording vs. computer software based recording. We start getting into the nuts and bolts of podcasting and Session #2 is jam packed with content, so GET IT NOW! You are going to have much to think about after this Session for sure.

With the Session #2 video I also provide you with a .pdf listing all the broadcast studio equipment I am using including cables and prices of everything.
