Learn to Podcast Session #4

15+You can pay thousands of dollars to attend some courses to learn how to podcast if you like and may think it is some mystical mysterious thing as some might have you believe. Because of those expensive courses that I could never afford, I decided to create this "Learn to Podcast" training series of tutorial videos and bring it to the average person at a reasonable price. I guarantee you will learn just as much as those courses that may cost thousands of dollars with this "Learn to Podcast" training video series. Bottom line is that I will get you up and running with your podcast dream even if you have zero experience. In Session #4 we dive heavy into extreme detail on mixers. I call this "Mixers 101" and I teach you everything you need to know about how to hook up and utilize your mixer for podcasting purposes. I discuss mixer nomenclature, show you the exact settings of my mixer knobs, levels, how to adjust things, what everything does, and what mistakes not to make. Specifically "Mackie" brand mixers, but you will learn enough to use any mixer once you understand what things do on a mixer and how to hook it up. The different brand mixers mostly work the same, but place inputs, outputs, knobs, and buttons in different locations. Some mixers have more inputs and outputs than others and they range in price. I even show you some alternate equipment that you might use with your mixer and in your studio even though I don't personally use the items. I want you to have all the options and make your own decisions on what you need.

As we go through the mixer I show you the exact cables and connectors you will need to purchase to hook up all your peripherals along with where to buy them for the best prices. We discuss different options for the cables you will need. Yup, we discuss XLR cables, TRS cables, 1/4" to 1/8" TRS conversion cables, headphone splitters, and much more. I tell you what each cable does and how to utilize it. We discuss some nomenclature of some of the cables you will need and I give you some tricks on how to keep things straight. Numerous diagrams of the mixer and cables along with actual pictures are utilized during Session #4.
