This version of our popular CLIMB 5.12 is written for those who either don’t have access to indoor routes, or can’t find a regular partner, and wish to train only on boulders.
CLIMB 5.12 is a periodized 12 Week Training Plan written specifically for the route climber who is climbing in the mid 5.11’s but hopes to break into the 5.12 grade, and has a specific season in which the climbing is the best. Climbers who are comfortable on lead and have no problems pushing themselves on a rope will benefit most from this plan.
The Plan consists of 3 phases to improve your endurance, power, and power endurance, as well as the mental tenacity required to climb 5.12. Your download also includes log sheets to help you track your training.
You will need access to bouldering, a fingerboard, and some sort of suspension trainer, such as a TRX or one of the many homemade variations that can be found on Youtube. It is also helpful to have access to dumbbells or kettlebells.
