Blender 3d: Retarget Helper addon

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Blender 4.0 was a major release, making many changes to Blender's API. Therefore, updating the addons requires careful testing. This is NOT a fully-fledged retargeting solution. :)

Instead, this is an addon containing different scripts that may help you with Retargeting tasks in Blender. Most of these scripts are built around workflows from CGDive.

This is a new addon and we add features as we discover tasks that can be automated. For now, there there are few features but their number may grow in the future. Feel free to suggest functionality that you would find useful. :)

Features:

• Extract and Constrain

Extracts any selected bones to a new armature and cleans up the new armature from animation data, drivers, and bones shapes. Then it automatically constrains the original armature bones to the new ones. This way you can create an "Intermediate FK rig" to which you can easily retarget an animation. This is useful when you are trying to retarget a motion to a complex rig. Because your original rig is constrained to the Intermediate one, you can then bake the action to the original rig.

• Generate IK Pole Finder

Generates "fake" pole targets for elbows and knees. This can be done on the Source rig or on the Intermediate rig. In case your Target rig has IK-only limbs, this will give you something to retarget the actual IK pole targets to.

• Mixamo Clean-up

Prepares characters downloaded directly from Mixamo for use with the Mixamo addon for Blender. About half of the Mixamo characters work with the addon out of the box. But the other half doesn't :) This tool can fix the problem.

• Actocore Clean-up

Cleans up mocap data from Actocore. It has been reported that it also works on Character Creator skeletons and possibly other characters and animations from Reallusion.
