Well, first, because a lot of GRE guides don't even break out Critical Reasoning as a separate section. They think it's the same thing as Reading Comprehension, and so end up teaching you the wrong strategies for it.

If they do break it out as a separate section, they give you half-ass explanations, leaving you thinking that there's no repeatable process to solving these questions.
