This tutorial includes step by step instructions and photos on how to create your own needle felted moose. Various techniques are used including attaching extremities with wool wrapping for fully movable joints, folded flap techniques, attaching glass eyes, as well as sculpting and blending techniques. After completing a moose, the techniques will allow you to create other "stuffed" animals in the same manner.
Supplies needed are:
2 ounces (56 grams) core wool
1 ounce (28 grams) outer wool in two shades of brown
Small pieces of colored wool for details
Glass eyes on wire (9-11 mm in size)
Felting Needles – 36 to 38 gauge triangular or star shaped needles, 40-42 gauge triangular needles
Foam Felting Pad
Darning or Doll Needle
Sturdy Thread such as Button/Upholstery Thread or Dental Floss
