Announcing BRITTLE, a soundset featuring 24 original presets for the Sculpture instrument in Logic Pro X and Mainstage 3.
Flintpope’s BRITTLE instruments load with unique channel-strips that morph the textures and tonality of real instruments into unusual spaces.
If you don’t own a Mac, or Logic, or Mainstage why not DL this for the 24 sample versions included in the bundle?*
What Apple say about SCULPTURE…
“Sculpture is a unique physical modelling instrument that produces tones no other synth can. By re-creating the sound of vibrating materials it generates uncommon and creative variations of strings, bells, chimes and other instruments. A deep set of modulation parameters produce movement and evolving textures. When you’re looking for a completely unexpected sound, Sculpture gives you incredible sound design options.”
Whether you just want an unusual effect for a track or want to dive into a surreal soundscape that would work equally well in a modern ballet or an indie horror film… try BRITTLE.
*DL ALSO INCLUDES THE 24 PRESETS IN WAV FORMAT
How to install in Logic Pro X (See below for Mainstage)
1. Save Your First User Patch First
Have you ever saved a software instrument Library Patch before? If not, open Logic now and choose any Library Patch on a software instrument. From the bottom of the Library window you’ll see a “Save” button. Click it, then name and save the patch in the default location (you can always remove this patch later). By doing this, you’ve created the necessary folder on the Mac where you’ll drag the “Brittle Patches” to.
2. Move Pack to Patches/Instrument Folder
The folder next to this “How To” text file that you’re reading now is called “Brittle Patches” - drag it onto your desktop. Quit Logic if it’s open, and from the Mac’s Finder open a new window. Go to your Home folder, then Music, then Audio Music Apps, then Patches (this folder contains your custom Logic Library Patches). Inside the Patches folder you’ll see the Instrument category. Drag the “Brittle Patches” folder directly to this "Instrument" folder and you’re done.
How to install in Mainstage 3.
First, close Mainstage 3.
Go this route through your folders>
Applications/Mainstage 3 (Right Click icon to “show package contents”)/Contents/Resources/Patches/Instrument
THEN drag and drop the downloaded folder called "Brittle Patches" into the opened "Instrument" folder.
Open Mainstage 3 in Edit Mode. Click on any preset in the left pane to bring up the Patch Settings in the middle pane at bottom of screen.
Click on the "Instruments" folder on the left and a drop-down opens in a new pane to reveal, amongst other things, the "Brittle Patches" folder. Click on this and there are your 24 presets including channel strips.
