Nave Lamp
Discovering properties such as flexibility ocurring due to
substraction, modifies preconceived ideas of material physical properties that when questioned leaves room for imagination. Its interesting to note how thanks
to processes an inexpensive material such as MDF increases its value.
Nave lamp has retrofuturistic style, for me there is an intrinsic relationship between technologies and science fiction, final shape conveys the abstract idea
of a space ship, emitting lightrays under its structure. “Nave” means spaceship in Spanish.
Lamp configuration allows flatpack packaging, thanks to this also provides an interactive experience and a fun, easy to assembly product for the final user.
Nave Lamp exhibited at Museo Franz Mayer (Mexico, DF) & featured at Architectural
Digest Mexico October 2013 print edition as part of design platform
Generación Decode.
