This album was released when I had a different name. So I took the liberty of changing my original name to Ellatric.

A dynamic vocalist and prolific songwriter, Vermont native, Ellatric is currently burning up the acoustic alternative scene with her thought provoking lyrics and twelve string jamming. Ellatric's sonic vocals will envelope you with a heartfelt and passionate embrace, and leave you with a powerfully positive impact!

Ellatric is a fearless performer, rapidly gaining recognition as an original artist combining an interpretaion of the blues, the enthusiasm of rock, the balladry of folk and the smoky feeling of jazz into a blend of acoustic alternative music.

Ellatric's inspiring songs reflect universal topics of choice, awareness, relationships and empowerment.

Her self taught guitar playing is unique and delivered through the harmony of her Taylor twelve string. An astute observer, there is a great spirituality and proof of internal reflection based on all the details absorbed by Ellatric from her situation and surroundings. She conveys a truth through her music and performances, that keeps her audience captive.

"All I Want" is a most sensitively sung ballad lightly accompanied by acoustic guitar and cello and, like "Hold On" and "Be Your Friend" with their tremendous acoustic guitar parts, illustrates the artist's vocal dexterity.

"What You Lookin At" and "It's" are performed in a similar manner. Keyboards join guitar adding to the richness of the arrangement in the alternative rock track (with a country tinge) "Everything." "Keep On Singing" is one of the album's high spots with its banjo and percussion perfectly joining the voice.

CD Musicians-Ellatric (6&12 string guitar/banjo), Trey Anastasio (acoustic texture), Chuck Eller (grand piano & Hammond B3 organ), Aaron Flinn (drums), Dave Grippo (saxaphone), Chad Hollister (percussion), Erich Kory (cello), Tony Markellis (acoustic bass), Mark Spencer (electric guitar), Stacy Starkweather (bass ), and Brian Steele (harmonica).

Reviews:

" She wraps her expressive voice and poetic musings languidly around twelve folk-pop tracks, matching the intimacy and passion of Jewel and Tori Amos; and conjuring the sensual soul of Alana Davis and Sarah Mclachlan." -- Taylor Guitars

"Her voice has all the power of confidence and experience, her clever lyrics have the storyteller's power to spellbind." -- College Street Magazine

Ellatric is gifted. Gifted like only few are. Ellatric's music is folk - to be sure - and drifts into pop territories without losing the sincere dedication she exhibits to her art. Her vocal phrasings and overall performance are brilliant - as are her intelligence and songwriting abilities. World class music. The 1999 CD, "Sunshine From Mars", is a 12 song collection of moving music. The record opens with a tune called, "Tuna Town", and although a fun poke at too much poking. . . it doesn't reflect the music to come. Who would know after listening to "Tuna Town", with it's lyric, '. .little did i know i was sharing you with dozens, you said. . you had to go out and spread your seed, take your skin boat to tuna town. . and poke and poke and poke around', that Ellatric would launch masterpieces with their heartfelt melodies like, "All I Want", "Everything", and the final track, "For a Dollar".

Clearly, "All I Want", is a hit - needs to be heard, for its chorus. .Track 3, "Stop the Violence", showcases Ellatric's interpretations vocally - she moves in and out of the tune like a finely tuned instrumental solo - her dynamics and rhythms moving hypnotically and without warning - like the subject she sings in the song, gun violence.

The CD is outstanding and a must for anyone who appreciates the singer/songwriter genre - not much more to say - Ellatric, accomplished acoustic guitarist, tremendous singer/songwriter, and a gift.
