In this audio, I talk about how being sober is like running a marathon, or like breaking your ankle, or like driving a car, or like going to law school - lots of metaphors to help understand.
I also talk about the 100-day writing challenge that I did and what it (re)taught me about early sobriety.
There’s a good quote at about the 20 minute mark of the edited version: “You don’t hand the baby back and say ‘oh well, this is a bit more challenging than I thought.’” So make sure you listen until you hear that part! You’ll also hear about external accountability, and treats, and support, and rewards, and how that applies to writing a book and quitting drinking.
The goal is 1000 times more important than how you get there.
Go you :)
