Sober Podcast 280 - Not That Bad

I received an email from Goofie Roofie, where she asked me to talk about the voice we seem to have in our heads, that says that we’re not THAT bad, or didn’t have a problem like THOSE people.

Why do we doubt ourselves even when we’re making the best decision for ourselves? Well, our head wants us to not change. Even when the ‘comfy’ bed is filled with snakes, your head will still tell you that it’s better to stay put.

In this audio, I mention this bed filled with snakes, and I bring in the sewer, and how our head perceives ‘safe = stay where you are’, even when ‘here = harm’.
