The truth is that alcohol used to be a large part of our identity, so then not-drinking might feel like you’ve lost part of who you were... and then how do you learn to fill that space? And for me, i felt like two people at the same time for months (both a sober person and a drinker, somehow like the sober person wasn't the real me...).
So who are you without this compulsive, depressive substance added in? OK, maybe you don’t know yet. Maybe you don't remember who you were before.
