This is a double episode, nearly an hour long! i didn't want to split it into two episodes, though, so i'm giving it to you all at once.
Your head might think that you need to drink to deal with large emotions (like anger, or grief). But the thing is, if we drink ON TOP of grief, then we get cement. and we don’t process the grief in real-time.
and THEN we carry it around with us, and we end up collecting an ‘archive’ of grief.
you might experience this when you've recently had a large emotion that seemed 'disproportionate' to the event.
again, this is podcast has a lot of meat in it. I mention my teaspoon-by-teaspoon method of dealing with large emotions which involves talking about ‘cooked squash’, the colour of the leaves, and grief. and then back again. i also talk about harp playing, fist fights, and how we need to be sober :)
