Summer Camp: The Neighborhood Guide

No camp? No worries. We created a Summer Camp stand-in in the form of activity guide to help make your family’s summer rich and full of good memories (and keep the kids occupied for several hours).

Print out the guide and hand it over to your kids. Inside they'll find activities like mapping, drawing, tallying fire hydrants, prompted mini research projects, and a final project at the end. Some activities will require your guidance but most will be self-directed depending on the age of your kids. The guide was designed for kids age 4—12 but activities can be adapted for other ages too.

Whether they're embarking on a popsicle test or getting masked up as trash ninjas, your kids will be learning details about their block, neighborhood, and city. It's undercover placemaking—strengthening the connection kids feel to the place they live. And maybe, just maybe you'll get those last few pages of your paper completed. Win-win.
