Unlike other social media sites, LinkedIn is designed as a networking and business development tool. It is entirely unlike Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other “social media” sites in that it is a “business networking site” to which completely different rules apply.
In this Video and set of Lecture Notes you’ll learn how to use LinkedIn’s special features to pitch yourself and your projects politely, professionally, and effectively to decision makers.
You will learn how to use it to set up meetings and follow up on auditions, submissions, and proposals. It addresses how to:
- Politely and professionally connect with those who can actually buy what you’re selling
- Build your LinkedIn profile so people you want to work with and for will actively reach out to you. Search for people you want to work with by location, title, industry, seniority, and other characteristics.
- Research people on LinkedIn to see if they are credible and honest
- Use the Sales Navigator to reach out to more leads each month
- Obey Linkedin rules and guidelines that will ensure you remain in good standing on the site.
By the end of this presentation, you’ll find you have an entirely new and better way to develop new business relationships. You’ll be easier to find and work with as well.
Tip: There’s a myth that people in the entertainment industry don’t use LinkedIn. Nothing could be further from the truth. Senior decision makers from Producers and Executive Producers to Studio VPs, and Distributor Acquisition Professionals are using Linkedin every day. Agents, Managers, Investors, and Directors are too. They use LinkedIn because it lets them reach out to people they don’t know to start building new deals and new business relationships swiftly and professionally.
