Ever been at a loss for words to explain why you need something?

If you know an autistic, you know that we often struggle to communicate, and that the more challenging or stressful the circumstances are, the more difficulty we have.

One of the least-understood but highest-impact stressors is fragrance.  If it smells nice, how could something be a problem?  Here, I've outlined the different types of fragrances, and the different types of problems they can cause.

Once you understand fragrance is a problem for you or someone you advocate for, how do you explain that problem to others?  

No criticism.  No condescension.  No dictating.  No triggering of other people's defences.

Just the facts, ma'am.  And some humble gratitude that people would take the time to hear you out.  Even if you can't speak.

This double-sided cheat-sheet has been a stand-by for me, for years, and a sample others have used to create their own negotiations for safe and functional participation in public events and venues.
