Blank Page To Finished Lyric - Video Course

This 4 1/2-hour course, taught by hit songwriter Brent Baxter, is designed to take you from a blank page to a new song idea to a fully developed concept to a finished lyric. You’ll learn a repeatable process you can use to discover and develop strong song ideas again and again and again. And you’ll also learn how to frame and focus those ideas for maximum commercial impact and appeal.

If you want to find more (and better) song ideas, finish more songs, impress more cowriters, and impact more listeners, this is the course for you!

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Session One:

“Finding Great Song Ideas” (1 hour video + PDF notes)

If you want to be a songwriting pro, you can’t write only when inspiration finds you. You have to find inspiration. In this session, I’ll reveal several techniques I use to discover new song ideas on a consistent basis. This is a repeatable process- a process YOU can use again and again so that you’re never caught without an answer when your cowriter asks, “Got any ideas?”

Session Two:

“Focusing Great Song Ideas” (1 hour video + PDF notes)

Great ideas are worthless without great execution. A vague notion is not enough. In this session, we’ll learn to focus your title or notion into a clear, compelling idea. After all, a title is not an idea. A title is just words. It’s what you make those words mean that matters. I’ll help you avoid the pain of having a really cool title or idea and not knowing what to do with it!

Session Three:

“Framing Great Song Ideas” (1 hour video + PDF notes)

If you don’t care about getting cuts, it doesn’t matter how you frame your idea. However, if you DO want an artist to record your song, you have to build it (frame it) in a way that makes it as attractive as possible to an artist. In this session, I’ll reveal several ways you can frame your song idea for maximum commercial appeal. It isn’t about, “___ is hot right now- write songs that way.” No, this is about how to think about the market in a way that can be applied at any time, no matter how the commercial market shifts. This session will help your songs go from, “yeah, that’s cool... but I don’t know what to do with it” to “yeah, that’s cool... and it’s perfect for my artist!”

Session Four:

“Framing And Finishing Great Song Ideas” (1 1/2 hour video + PDF notes)

A great idea that’s 80% done in your notebook is 0% done to the rest of the world. Your unfinished song will never be a hit. In this session, we’ll conclude our lesson on framing great song ideas for maximum commercial appeal. I’ll also reveal several techniques that you can use to overcome creative roadblocks and finish your great song ideas. When your initial inspiration slips away and “this is great” becomes “this is hard,” you can turn to these techniques for reliable help.  After this session, you'll be prepared to use all we've learned to write a great lyric of your own!

Nothing can accelerate your songwriting career like consistently finding and finishing great song ideas.  It's what every cowriter wants and what every artist needs.

And having the right idea when you walk into a cowrite is a huge deal.  Your cowriter, after some chit chat, will probably say, "So... got any ideas?"  Your answer to that question will not only set the course for that day, it may be the difference in getting ANOTHER day with that cowriter or not.

I want you to be prepared with not just one, but several strong song ideas every time you walk into the writing room.

But it's not enough to just have an idea.  There are many ways to write an idea.  If you want an artist to record your song, HOW you decide to write your ideas will have a major impact on the commercial strength of your song.  Attitude, point of view, imagery, timeframe... they all have affect how much impact your song will have in the market (whether that means Music Row or the concert stage).

INVESTMENT:

This course is only a $90 investment.  Think about it- for much, much less than the price of ONE demo or ONE trip to Nashville or New York or LA, you can learn techniques that will make song after song after song SO much better.

If you’re not careful, you can waste thousands of dollars demoing songs that aren't as good as they could be- that aren't as good as they need to be.  How much is it worth to NOT waste thousands of dollars on average songs?  How much is it worth to walk into any cowrite with confidence that you have several strong ideas?

How valuable is it to have your cowriters trust that any time they get with you, they'd better bring their "A" game because they know you'll bring in something really cool?  That's worth a LOT more than $90.

GUARANTEE:

If you are not satisfied with this course- if you don't learn new, valuable insights into the pro songwriting process- and if you don't see results from applying these techniques- then I will give you a FULL refund.  That's how much I believe in this course.  (After all, I use this stuff myself!) If you try these techniques and you don't get positive results within 30 days, just let me know.  I won't hassle you.  I'll just refund your money.  So there is really no risk for you. You'll either learn enough that it's a great bargain, or you don't pay a dime!

“I loved the course.  You are so smart and organized, and I honestly haven't taken a better online class!  I loved how much everyone participated, and how you really got people thinking.  The course materials were so well written and very easy for me to figure out while also being thought-provoking.  It was definitely worth the money!  I recommend that any songwriter take this class, regardless of what genre they write for.  It's just a really great way to organize the songwriting process without even getting too technical.  I definitely started implementing the techniques we discussed.  My favorite is the 1,000 Word Exercise; it really helps me to just lay all my thoughts out on the table without any hesitations.  Though sometimes it is difficult for me to sit down and write, the things I learned in this class have helped me to pull out ideas that were dying to be released.

Thank you so much for what you do to help songwriters like me!”

“In the interest of full disclosure, I have always been happy to write a testimonial about an experience I've had with someone's product if I was asked to provide one.

HOWEVER, I can say with zero hesitation that I have never ASKED to write a testimonial because I was so blown away by my experience- until NOW!

When I tell you that I was dumbfounded by the practical, simple yet genius techniques that I picked up in these lessons, I'm still not doing justice to what an actual advantage I walked away with over writers that I am pitching songs against every single day!

Obviously, I support and wish my fellow dreamers the absolute best in their pursuits, but it would be disingenuous of me to give the impression that I don't try to do everything within my power to be one step ahead of them at all times. That's just being smart, plain old good business. Which leads me to this point, and it's one that I think anyone who's been around this songwriting game for any length of time can relate to unfortunately.

That point is that there is a seemingly endless stream of "experts" jamming my Facebook timeline, and filling my email inbox with a million different schemes promising to give me the "secret formula" to writing hit songs. If I'm honest, back in my greener, more trusting and ignorant days, I actually wasted a fair amount of cash trying to "beat the house" with those crackpots. Lesson learned. What should have been obvious to me at the time, was that some system created by a person who never had one bit of success themselves, was guaranteed to produce the same end result for me! These days, I so want to contact them and be like, "Um, can you explain to me why it is that you've never written a song that anyone would know, and have no track record to point to as evidence that your methods are effective? If it didn't (and still doesn't) produce the results you're promising for you, how exactly is it going to do so for me?!"

Maybe someday, but for now, I'm much more satisfied by encouraging the real professionals who have a heart for their fellow songwriters, and sharing the best of the best with those who I believe could benefit from their willingness to share.

Brent Baxter, with his Songwriting Pro endeavors, unequivocally sits at the very top of my list. I am a huge proponent of always seeking to learn something new at every turn, and I have found only a handful of sources I find to be credible, effective, and indispensable. In my opinion, which is based on my ability to see verifiable, irrefutable evidence, that the methods, techniques, and experience of the Professional who I've entrusted with my money and faith have furthered my songwriting capabilities and increased my craftsmanship. That's the standard by which I measure each and every encounter I have.

By that standard, there's not a close second to Brent. Practicality, ease of implementation, and success upon execution of his teachings have opened doors on Music Row that I couldn't knock on before I discovered him.

That's as black and white as I can possibly state my experiences with Brent in the past, and I am not embellishing at all when I tell you that I anticipate his new courses as eagerly as I anticipate writing the best song I'll ever write. Because the fact is, I firmly believe that one will follow the other.

It's been exactly like that to this point, and he just keeps bringing the gold nuggets of wisdom every single time, each better than the last.

That's money well spent in my book, and I have the results to back up my statement.

Do yourself a favor, and experience what it's like when someone over delivers, instead of over promises.”

"The Songwriting Pro "Finish Your Song" web workshop was a tremendous value for the minimal investment. Brent presented a wealth of ideas and tips in a very professional delivery. This was quite an educational webinar. All of the material was covered in great detail and exactly on time with the planned agenda/syllabus. I would not hesitate to sign up for another similar presentation from Brent in this type of format. It doesn't hurt that the technology component (Fuze in this case) was completely smooth and added to the overall experience"
