Before Dawn Digital Graphic Novel

An ancient demonic evil is awakened during a party at an isolated mansion, deep in the woods of the Appalachians. Now the teenagers find themselves trapped inside with demons while outside, the living dead are beginning to rise from the nearby cemetery, hungry for the taste of human flesh.

Before Dawn was conceived in my mind as a twisted love letter to some of my favorite horror movies such as John Carpenter’s The Thing, Peter Jackson’s DeadAlive, and especially the original Evil Dead.

Along with Jason Whitley (a fantastic illustrator and fellow horror fan), we worked together to create and self-publish Before Dawn as a graphic novel. While the project didn’t allow us to retire early, it did get some positive reviews from magazines like Rue Morgue and Fangoria, and we even got a ringing endorsement from Sam Raimi himself who said it contained “great freaky scenes of original horror!” That alone made the project worth while.

Before Dawn is 62-pages of bloody horror told in black-and-white. It is intended for mature audiences.
