Family Portraits tells stories of ten New Zealanders, and explores the awesomeness of their own individual sexual orientations and/or gender identities.

This issue tells the story of Tracey, a Thai New Zealander, as she negotiates culture, sexuality and gender. Through this story our Author examines the influence of his own culture and family. It also looks into the effects of suicide as the author grieves the death of his friend.

The last story celebrates the lives of Albert and William; two men who find love in a small town, at a time when being homosexual was illegal.
