Lesson 8 - We will move from your own personal surrounding community and begin to extend outward connecting with global neighbors, near and far. We can begin to look at your relationship with the larger world community. Chief Seattle of the Duwamish people said this, “All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. Whatever befalls earth, befalls the people of earth. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.” What does your tree teacher want to teach you about how to be present in the larger world community and what can your tree, itself, learn from the surrounding community of trees beyond itself? What resources can be exchanged to create a healthier community for yourself and for those around you? Your tree teacher wants to take you on a journey beyond what is local and comfortable, beyond what you know, and have your explore global connections beyond your own borders. Through this process, your tree teaches you the wisdom to look for answers to problems by asking for solutions outside what you already know.
