THOUGHTS:
You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?  Galatians 5:7

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Hebrews 12:1

There are many races we run in our lives.  First and foremost is our Christian life and salvation.  The finish line is death, continuing on to an everlasting celebration in eternity.

Another race we run is our marriage.  It too has a starting line.  It has a lengthy distance that requires perseverance.  We run that race with others and each other.  We have a destination and finish line…until death does us part.

Running marathons are difficult, but the prize is worth it.  Maybe a gold medal or ribbon, but, better yet, a sense of accomplishment, with many witnesses cheering us on.  We need to run this race and run it hard.  We need to cross the finish line together.  Dropping out is considered a loss.  Run on!  Run hard!  Just like a marriage.
