SSOptimize Bender Add-on

Who is it for?


For game developers, 3d modelers, ArchViz experts or anyone working with real-time graphics and needs to convert and bake high poly subdivision surface models to low poly models. 

You can use it for models exported from other 3d modeling tools as well. The addon fully supports imported models as well as the models made with Blender.


What does it do?

It takes a high poly subdivision surface model (or any quad based topology) and converts it to low poly models while preserving all the UVs and textures and even the mesh topology.


Features

  • Algorithm for optimizing subdivision surface 3d models. Specify the optimization factor and the add-on takes care of the rest. 
  • Consistent results across models. You do not have to pick a different optimization factor for each model, as you would with a target triangle count. Larger models will automatically have more triangles after optimization. Therefore, all the models in your project will have a similar quality.
  • Quad topology preservation. Optimization can preserve the quad topology and UVs as well. If you do not need this, you can reduce the triangle count further by disabling this.
  • Texture transfer. You can transfer textures from your high poly model directly to the output of the optimizer. Baking of PBR normal, diffuse, roughness and metallic maps is supported. Even generate the smoothness / metallic map for the Unity game engine automatically.
  • Get better-looking models than manually by manually retopologizing and baking. Plus save hours of work every day.
