How Does The Writing Room Work?
On the first Tuesday of every month (bar January) members have access to a live writing room session at Studio One in Ponsonby at 7.00pm. You turn up with laptop or pad & pen - and we write. You don't need to book, or let me know you're coming - just turn up. And I'll be sending out reminders...
Halfway through each month, I'll be sending you a creative exercise/writing prompt for you to listen to and work on at home. Just to keep your writing momentum up until we meet again. Plus I'll be posting useful bits and pieces for you on our Facebook Page.
Q: When is the best time to subscribe?
A: You can subscribe at any time - but think about subscribing when you're ready to start your membership so you can make the most of it. If you're opting for the monthly membership - I recommend signing up on the first of the month.
Q: What type of writers would benefit from this membership?
A: Any type of writer. Fiction, non-fiction, poet, bogger - it doesn't really matter.
Q: How much time can I expect to commit in order to get the most from my membership?
A: This is up to you - we all have busy lives. But it would be great if you could commit at least 3-4 hours per month. And it would be lovely to see you in the live room every month.
Q: What if I can't make a live session?
A: No worries - just turn up for the next one. Think of it as a gym membership - it's up to you how often you come along. You don't have to let me know.
Q: Do I have to live in Auckland to join?
A: Not at all, but it will mean you'll miss out on the live Writing Room Session every month. But if you're more interested in the online stuff then, by all means, do join us.
Q: Do I have to share my work at the Live Writing Room Session?
A: No, it's more about writing than sharing. The Facebook page is the place for that if you want to share.
Q: Do I have to share my work on the Facebook Page?
A: No, not at all it's a forum to use as you please.
Q: How will I access the Writing Room Members Facebook Page?
A: When you subscribe - I'll send you an invitation to join the group.
Q: How does the membership subscription work?
A: Like any subscription. Once you've subscribed to The Writing Room - you'll be charged a monthly subscription using the credit card you set up your subscription with. (Or 3 -6 monthly if that's the type of subscription you choose.)
Q: What if I decide it's not for me?
A: You can easily unsubscribe - no questions asked. :-)
