Basic Moves

Preliminary Skills & Safety Tips

Kettlebell training might look tough but it does not have to be dangerous in order to be effective. In this chapter Greg will teach you how to make your kettlebell practices safe not only for yourself, but for your partners and onlookers too. Greg will also arm you with five basic movements that you need to have in order to start off successfully.

Squatting Movement Group

Squat Skill Group

Squatting is an essential skill for both sports and real world situations. In this chapter Greg will show you the ins and outs of the three main squatting exercises and their multiple variations. If you thought that squat is just for the legs, watch that section, try the exercises and than tell us what you think! Greg will teach you how to engage your whole body into squatting movements with kettlebells and how to turn it into one solid piece from the ground up.

Lunge Skill Group

Vertical Press Skill Group

A good variety of standing presses should be a staple in every athlete's arsenal, as well as a truer measure of the upper body pressing strength, as opposed to a bench press. In this chapter you will discover how to turn an "average" pressing exercise into a total body movement, and than how to take that skill even further by manipulating the position of your lower body. A pull up bar or a pair of rings are some of the best additions to a pair of kettlebells, as there is a huge variety of Pulling exercises that could be performed on it. However, sometimes the other tools might be unavailable. That will not stop you from getting some world class upper body Pulling action with a pair of bells: in this section you will first learn a basic Pulling exercise and than take it to a whole new level of core stabilization with the second exercise.

Ballistic Pulls

Swing Skill Group

Kettlebell ballistics have to be experienced in order to truly understand its conditioning effect. And it will all start with the Swing -- seemingly "innocently easy" exercise, that will make you cry your mama. As always, Greg will go through the basics first, but once through, he unleashes ten powerful Swing variations for more advanced students that will make you swear him for the "torture", but bless him for the results, such as enhanced coordination, great cardiovascular and muscular conditioning, as well as strong hamstrings, glutes, lower back, lats, traps and grip.

Clean Skill Group

In this section you will discover to Clean the bells properly, and once you are on the good track Greg will show you ten brutal variations of the Clean, including his signature Squat Cleans and Split Cleans that will take the words "hard work that pays off" to a whole new level. High Pull Skill Group

I can see that you draw inspiration from many sources but the way in which you consolidate the information takes training to a completely new level. To me your work redefines the "core" wherein most trainers only consider the upper aspect of the abs. Greg, I just wanted to drop you a note to say how much I enjoyed your Iron Beast Conditioning DVD. It had a lot more than the other DVDs on kettlebell lifting I've seen to this point. I especially thought the combination lifts were eye opening. I've already begun experimenting with a double kb clean,squat, side press. It's tough. It's a great DVD collection with plenty of good information, insight and training lessons. Well worth the money.
