Three scripts that combine, extract, separate, and duplicate faces in one click without leaving a mess of temp nodes in the outliner. The scripts also preserve object names, pivot locations, and scene hierarchy. Model how you want and keep your scene clean at the same time in Autodesk Maya.
WARNING before using these scripts:
If you're using Maya 2018 please install service pack 6 or later
If you're using Maya 2017 please install service pack 5 or later
FEATURES:
-Combine selected objects in one click without creating extra nodes and groups in the outliner
-Extract selected faces in one click without creating extra nodes and groups in the outliner
-In object mode the extract button separates polygon elements into separate objects instead of extracting faces
-Duplicate selected faces in one click without creating extra nodes and groups in the outliner
-Last selected object's name and pivot location are preserved during combine so you don't lose your work, but channel box values are reset to zero
-Original object's name and pivot location are preserved during extract so you don't lose your work, but channel box values are reset to zero
-Extracted face's pivot point is automatically centered for convenience
-Separated object's pivot points are automatically centered for convenience
-Duplicated face's pivot point is automatically centered for convenience
-Hierarchy of all objects is maintained in outliner during combine, extract, separate, and duplicate
-Ojbects are kept in their current display layer
-Works with instanced objects
