What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a state of total awareness, a way of detaching ourselves from our negative thoughts, and a way to step back so we can see our thoughts for what they truly are.
Mindfulness exercises allow us to achieve this state of mind. Mindfulness originated as a buddhist meditation but has gained traction in the west in recent years because of it's positive effects on mental health issues.
Amazingly, mindfulness is now being used to treat chronic disorders like depression and anxiety.

Why did I make this?
Mindfulness exercises allowed me personally to get into a clearer state of mind so that I could start to heal my generalised anxiety disorder that I'd had my whole life. Before I discovered mindfulness, I was lost and thought I'd never be able to change the way I thought or felt.
As a writer and creator, I wanted to share with others simple yet effective ways to reconnect with the world surrounding them. That's why I started www.projectenergise.com, and why I create printable worksheets like this one.
