How Do I Pitch?

Includes how to talk about your project in person and online or in email, pitch etiquette, how to win over your audience, and an email template.

How Do You Know When You’re Ready To Pitch?

Know when you’ve got your pitch locked. Includes editorial direction, market research, pitch checklist and project development.

What Do I Do Now?

You don’t pitch and run, there’s a post pitch procedure. This includes follow up etiquette, how to go forward with a successful pitch, when to change your pitch and how to keep your momentum going.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Is this course good for (designers, authors, doll makers, contract killers)?

Yes, The Art of the Pitch applies to every kind of creative. If you make things, then you need to learn how to pitch them to the right people — whether that’s your boss, your fans, agents, publishers, investors, etc.

Ok, maybe if you are a contract killer, it’s better not to talk about your work too much…email us, we’ll give you a discount.

Q: How long will I have to see the material? Is there a time limit?

You have forever access. The whole point of this project is to get artists the knowledge they need. We’re not going to take it away!

Q: Hm, I really wanted to be a part of the live Q+A sessions.

Well, you have access to the Q+A hosts (Lauren and Mallory) AND all the participants in the FB group.

You also have access to the Q+A videos, yours to watch anytime.

And if/when we offer a live version again, everyone who has ever signed up for the course will be welcome to join the live sessions.

Q: Can you work at your own pace?

Absolutely. If you need a little encouragement we recommend getting a small group inside the FB group to get through the material together.

Q: I’m a struggling artist, paying for classes feels like a lot for me to afford.

We get it, and it’s the “struggling artist” that we make our courses for! The truth is that any amount of money will make it hard for some people to join.

That’s why we give every student a way to offset the cost with a personal affiliate link. For every person that signs up, you get money back. And we don’t cap it. So not only can you get your course for free, you can actually make money on top.

If you have a question that wasn’t answered here, ask us by emailing info@makeyourartwork.com and we’ll answer (and probably add it to this FAQ)
