A much-loved venue for classical music, Tyaga Brahma Gana Sabha or Vani Mahal, as it is popularly called- is one of our favourite venues to sing! This concert featured a few unusual selections- such as the rarely heard Tamil composition in and in . With the vibrant in anchoring the concert, we went on to present yet another unusual choice- a Thirukkural as a - the well known Kural on sweetness in speech found the ideal foil in the mellow and gentle tapestry of Raga The Chennai season is the time we bring out fresh items from our repertoire- and the short yet dramatic tamil piece in with an apt virutham brought up the tail end of the concert. L Ramakrishnan is the ideal accompanist who knows how to highlight the voice and support the music effectively. Sai Giridhar along with Chandrasekara Sharma on Ghatam have added their own special touches to the concert.
