Bethany Beach (Ken Kolodner)

0 ratings

For many years, my family has vacationed at Bethany Beach, DE. A few years back, my daughter asked “Will we always come back here as a family?” Her sweet question inspired me to write this simple melody. This piece gives us some nice opportunities to explore a variety of simple arranging ideas: two and three note chords, triplets, descending bass lines, drones, fills and valley rolls. I also discuss the use of relative minors, circle of fifths chord movement and secondary dominants. This piece is playable by all levels. I hope you enjoy it!
