1. How to consistently find new and exciting hooks, titles and ideas, again and again. Be confident when you sit down to write or walk into a cowrite, knowing that you have ideas and hooks you can’t wait to write. Become the writer people call because they know you’ll bring great ideas.

2. How to focus titles and hooks into compelling, killer song ideas. This clear vision for your songs will help you write them with energy, confidence and enthusiasm. Your songs will be easier to write, they’ll be better, and cowriters and publishers will love you for it.

3. How to build your songs for maximum commercial impact and appeal. Write songs that artists want to sing and fans want to hear again and again. Touch people with your music. Be seen and recognized as the pro that you’ve become.

4. How to overcome creative roadblocks and finish your best songs. Feel the accomplishment that comes with finishing songs you love and being able to share them with the world. Become a valued and respected songwriter - because cowriters and publishers know you can see a song through from beginning to end.

Reserve your spot in the “Building A Hit Song: From Blank Page To Finished Lyric” online event right now.  The deadline to join is Monday, July 1!

Nothing can accelerate your songwriting career like consistently finding and finishing great song ideas.  It's what every cowriter wants and what every music publisher and artist needs.  And if you can do that, they’ll need YOU.

Having the right idea when you walk into a cowrite is a huge deal.  Your cowriter, after some chit chat, will probably say, "So... got any ideas?"  Your answer to that question will not only set the course for that day, it may be the difference in getting ANOTHER day with that cowriter or not.

Avoid the embarrassment of not having any song ideas. Be confident and prepared with not just one, but several strong song ideas every time you walk into the writing room.

But it's not enough to just have a good song idea.  There are many ways to write an idea.  If you want cuts, HOW you decide to write your ideas will have a major impact on the commercial strength of your song.  Attitude, point of view, imagery, timeframe... they all have an on how much your song will have in the market (whether that means in a publisher’s office or on the concert stage).

It’s time to stop writing songs that get ignored. It’s time to get noticed.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to take you from a blank page to a new song idea to a fully developed concept to a finished lyric.

You’ll learn a repeatable process you can use to discover and develop strong song ideas again and again. And you’ll also learn how to frame and focus those ideas for maximum commercial impact and appeal.

This course is INTERACTIVE!  You won't sit back and just stare at a talking head for an hour-and-a-half.  You won't be some number on a screen.  No.  We'll be face-to-face.  I'll ask you questions.  You can ask me questions.  We're in this thing together.  That's why I keep this workshop small- I want to get to know YOU!

We will meet online once per week for 4 weeks. Each session is 1 1/2 hours, for a total of 6 hours.  We use an online video-conference platform, which means you can join us from anywhere in the world with an internet connection!  You can be in Nashville or across the globe!  (Although you can also join by calling from your phone.)

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS:

Finding Great Song Ideas: If you want to be a songwriting pro, you can’t write only when inspiration finds you. You have to actively seek out inspiration. In this session, I’ll reveal several techniques I use to discover new song ideas on a consistent basis. This is a repeatable process- a process YOU can use again and again so that you’re never caught without an answer when your cowriter asks, “Got any ideas?” Go from blank-page anxiety to having a stack of ideas you can’t wait to write.

Focusing Great Song Ideas: Great ideas are worthless without great execution. A vague notion is not enough. In this session, we’ll learn to focus your title or notion into a clear, compelling idea. After all, a title is not an idea. A title is just words. It’s what you make those words mean that matters. Don’t waste your best titles and hooks- turn them into killer songs.

Framing Great Song Ideas: If you want an artist to record your song, you have to build it in a way that makes it as attractive as possible to an artist. In this session, I’ll reveal several ways you can frame your song idea for maximum commercial appeal. It isn’t about, “___ is hot right now- write songs that way.” No, this is about how to think about the market in a way that can be applied at any time, no matter how the commercial market shifts. Write songs that artists want to sing and fans want to hear.

Framing And Finishing Great Song Ideas: A great idea that’s 80% done in your notebook is 0% done to the rest of the world. Your unfinished song will never be a hit. In this session, we’ll conclude our lesson on framing great song ideas for maximum commercial appeal. I’ll also reveal several techniques that you can use to overcome creative roadblocks and finish your great song ideas. When your initial inspiration slips away and “this is great” becomes “this is hard,” you can turn to these techniques for reliable help.  After this session, you'll be prepared to use all we've learned to write a great lyric of your own!

Reserve your spot in the “Building A Hit Song: From Blank Page To Finished Lyric” online event right now. Space is limited.

INVESTMENT:

$200 per student. That works out to just $50 per night, or only $33 per hour. That's an incredible deal.  Think about it- for much less than the price of ONE demo, you can learn techniques that will make song after song after song so much better.  How much is it worth to NOT waste hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on average songs?  How much is it worth to walk into any cowrite with confidence that you have several strong ideas- and know what do to with them?  How valuable is it to have your cowriters trust that any time they get with you, they'd better bring their "A" game because they know you'll bring in something really cool?  That's worth a LOT more than $200.

BONUSES:

THE VIDEO REPLAYS:

Each student will receive 6 months of unlimited access to the video replay. Miss a night of the event? Not a problem- just watch the replay. Want a refresher on a few of the techniques? Not a problem- just watch the replay.

THE BOOK:

Each student will immediately receive a free copy of my ebook, “Finish Your Song! 20 Ways To Overcome Creative Roadblocks.” This valuable ebook reveals several techniques to help you complete those hard-to-finish songs both FASTER and BETTER. It contains more information than I time to reveal in the live event, and it usually sells for $15.

Don’t miss YOUR chance to transform your songwriting. Space is limited, so reserve your spot right now.

GUARANTEE:

If you are not satisfied with this course- if you don't learn new, valuable insights into the pro songwriting process- and if you don't see results from applying these techniques- then I will give you a FULL refund.  That's how much I believe in this course.  (After all, I use this stuff myself!)  But if, for some reason, you try these techniques and you don't get positive results within 30 days, just let me know.  I won't hassle you.  I'll just refund your money (as long as you give the techniques a chance).  So there is really no risk for you. You either learn enough that it's a great bargain, or you don't pay a dime!

JOINING THE SESSIONS:

The day before each session, I'll email you a Zoom invitation.  It will contain a link you will click to join the video-conference.  It’s simple. You can also choose to call in from your phone for audio-only.  You can check out Zoom at www.zoom.us.

STILL CAN'T AFFORD IT?

Well, I have another option for you.  You can watch a video replay from an earlier version called "Song Ideas: From Blank Page To Finished Lyric" for only $90 with a click here.  Obviously, I believe the live course is the better option.  For one thing, the "replay" version of the course is NOT interactive. You can watch it at your own pace, but there is not the accountability of having somewhere to be each week (people often don't finish what they don't HAVE to finish- even when it could really help them).  But if you're strapped for cash or otherwise just don't want to join us, this is a solid choice.  The information is rock-solid, and it will really help your songwriting.  So it's up to you.  If you want to purchase the "replay" course, CLICK HERE.

ABOUT BRENT:

Brent is an award-winning pro songwriter with cuts by Alan Jackson (the top 5 country hit “Monday Morning Church”), Randy Travis, Lady Antebellum, Joe Nichols, comedy legend Ray Stevens, guitar legend Steve Cropper, Canadian superstar Gord Bamford (the #1 hit and CCMA Single of the Year “When Your Lips Are So Close”) and more.

"No matter where you are on your songwriting journey, whether you're just getting started, whether you've been doing this for a while, I think there's a lot you can learn from this class, and I'd highly recommend that you take it."

David Hill

“I loved the course.  The materials were so well written and very easy for me to figure out while also being thought-provoking.  It was definitely worth the money!  I recommend that any songwriter take this class, regardless of what genre they write for.  It's just a really great way to organize the songwriting process without even getting too technical.  I definitely started implementing the techniques we discussed.  Thank you so much for what you do to help songwriters like me!”

Cecilia Grace

I was dumbfounded by the practical, simple yet genius techniques that I picked up in those lessons, and I walked away with an advantage over writers that I am pitching songs against every single day!
