If you are unfamiliar with me and my work or you are just curious to learn a bit more about who I am and what I do, then please read on.
My name is David Torno, and I am a self-taught Visual Effects Professional with a passion for the technical and educational side of VFX. Since beginning my career in 2000, I have worked on over 160 films, commercials, music videos, and multimedia projects. In 2008 I began sharing my knowledge with other creatives through video tutorials, project templates, and utility scripts. While most known for serving as the Technical Director at Ghost Town Media for 8 years, I have recently taken to 3D volumetric and particle animation. A great example of my smoke, dust, energy, and particle work can be seen in the DCEU animated logo which precedes the top DC films and animation franchise releases. Concurrent with client projects, I continue to create helpful tools, and informative training videos for the creative community.
Ultimately my goal is to make teaching a full time venture, as I find it very rewarding to work with and share ideas with young and old alike. My passion for creating, and discovering new things has always been a driving force in my life. The gratification I receive from contributing to the careers of others has added a rich dimension to my own journey as a creative. With your support and donations, I can continue to offer helpful knowledge and guidance.
