Substance Tools - Stone Carver 01
Stone Carver Substance Tool heavily inspired by the Naughty Dog (Uncharted 4) guys. So endless gratitude to Rogelio Olguin, Jonathan Schmidt, and Bradford Smith for sharing your knowledge!

Stone Carver was designed to create primary and secondary forms for stone tiles in the form of a height map. You can think of this as traditionally sculpting base shapes in ZBrush, finishing the material off later with surface detail. I'd generally advise keep this step as clean as possible, since tertiary details can always be added and managed later.
This version of Stone Carver requires 4 inputs. A "pattern" input is used to define the tile pattern and height (*tip* gradients can create slope). A "pattern variation" input is used at various steps for variation. It needs to match the "pattern" input with each individual element a flat shade of grey. The "large cracks mask" and "small cracks mask" inputs are masks for large cracks and small cracks respectively.
This node represents a step in producing a complete material. There is a set of Substances capable of producing a complete material using this tool at Textures.com (http://www.textures.com/people/view/contributor/134).
