旭日章（日本の警察の紋章）

旭日章（きょくじつしょう）は、昇る朝日と陽射しをかたどった紋章。日本の警察のほか、多くの日本の国家機関のシンボルマークとして用いられる。警察マーク、日章（にっしょう）、旭影（きょくえい）、朝日影（あさひかげ）、桜の代紋ともいう。家紋とする場合には旭光（きょっこう）とも呼ばれている。

The Order of the Rising Sun is an emblem in the shape of the rising sun and sunlight. It is used as a symbol of the Japanese police as well as many other Japanese national institutions. It is also called the police emblem, nissho, kokuei, asahikage, and sakura no dairimon. When used as a family crest, it is also called the crest of the rising sun (kyokko).
