A Creative Workshop & Retreat

A Master Class in Creative Thinking and Unthinking
I believe that creativity is highly correlated with self-knowledge and that you can’t have the creative development you seek without personal development. This workshop is the catalyst to bring both your creativity and courage to the forefront.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Anyone who feels their creativity has plateaued, wants more from their gift, or seeks a new way of getting their voice out into the world. The creative professional with some experience under his belt. (You’ve taken your share of creative knocks.) The leader/entrepreneur/problem solver looking to bring less fear and more of herself and her creativity to her work. (So you can start, finish and ship your damn projects.)
Come. Work with me. Lose your fears and self-doubts.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
This is an intimate workshop, salon, creative bootcamp, rustic retreat, and wholly transformational ass-kicking experience that is designed to take you to the next level in your life and business.
You’ll spend 3 days with other charged, curious and intelligent thinkers and designers in an exploration of creative thinking, techniques and methodology. My Assistant Coach Jason Bacher will be there to share his own brand of wisdom and inspiration.
What we do is unconventional, inspired, ridiculously fun and insanely hard. And that is why it's so worth the challenge.
Your brain will hurt, your heart will thank you.
If you are not here to make changes in your creative life and career, don’t waste your time.
Unlearn the ‘right’ answers, widen our perspective on the purpose of our work, and give each other the permission to be wrong
Break away from the cliché, knee jerk and ‘obvious’ response to create meaningful, powerful communication and memorable imagery
Take you through a series of lessons designed to test how you think and introduce you to the concept of the 'wrongest idea’ as a vehicle for innovation
Share my own personal experiences, techniques, war stories of success and failure, and possibly let you drive my tractor
You. Me. Let’s make it happen. Click the green “I want this” button over there.
There are only 10 seats available. The workshops always sell out. If you nodded yes to any of the above, grab your seat now.

HEAR WHAT PAST ATTENDEES ARE SAYING:
“It was half restorative retreat and half labor camp of love.” —Alex P., NYC
“I can’t thank you enough for everything this past weekend. This creative retreat is exactly what I needed at this stage in my creative career. Your advice, challenging questions, and calling me out on my excuses helped me to grow in ways I was not expecting. The format of dialogue, creative brain exercises, mixed with serious fun and a chill atmosphere made for a truly unique experience." —Brandi, NM
"Like most creative-types, I’m operating in 5th gear all the time. Spending two uninterrupted days with James, Laura, and Jason was a literal deep breath that allowed me to truly examine my own practice and the BIG pieces of my life that I want to more fully experience. Between the cornbread, the telescope, the campfire, and creative calisthenics from drawing to object improv and throwing paint around, all of us had a blast and left with our brains and hearts on fire."— Emily, Oakland
“The workshop was like a shot of creative adrenaline. It was full of getting our hands dirty making, and soaking up knowledge as James dished it out. The Victores generously welcomed us into their home, campfire and all. I left with new friendships and great advice ringing in my ears.” —Angela S., Texas
“The workshop was an amazing experience, thanks for being a wonderful facilitator and instructor.” —Alyce H., LA
“I think the best part, though, was actually how personally James responded to everyone. It felt to me that this wasn't some cookie-cutter design factory, but that he listened to everyone and saw things in them to respond to and work with.”— Maureen A., Las Vegas
"The entire experience was transformative. To be supported, and pushed fucking hard, by such openness and honesty is difficult. I couldn’t help but feel the positive effects and get back to work a different human and creative than before I arrived. —Dillon, SF
"My favorite part was the courage I left with.” Paulina P., Dallas
I am a designer, author and activist. I teach people how to not only trust their creativity, but to lead with it to achieve personal greatness.
