Impingement Syndrome is a common and painful repetitive strain injury. It occurs when one or more of the shoulder muscles become ‘pinched’ and irritated, resulting in pain when lifting or raising the arm to the side.
The following symptoms are associated with Impingement Syndrome:
- Pain into the affected shoulder when attempting to raise the arm.
- Pain which is worse during or after exercise and easier with rest.
- Tenderness when pressing the side or front of the shoulder joint.
- Difficulty undertaking day to day activities such as dressing or combing hair.
Impingement syndrome is not serious but tends to get worse over time if left untreated.
Our treatment guide will show you how to manage the pain and accelerate the body’s natural healing process. Strengthening and mobilisation exercises will help you achieve normal pain free movement and prevent re-injury.
