"By the Tree" is an Easter play for children that takes place entirely by a tree on the road to Jerusalem. It is by this tree where children act out conversations that various characters involved in the events of the death and resurrection of Jesus may have had. Characters include Nathaniel and Philip, a paralyzed man and his friends, a blind man and his friends, neighbors, priests, and small children.
Written by an experienced children's worker for use with her own church ministry, "By the Tree" is easy to rehearse and perform and can be adapted for use with any size ministry. Approximate running time: 20 minutes.
