This Max-for-Live-Device is not like another usual delay effect. It is more like an extreme Extension of the "Track Delay" Feature inside of Ableton Live. I like to say its effect is like a "time machine" for audio signals.
Unlike a normal echoing effect plugin or device which are most common known as "delay" effect, this device doesn´t echoing the input signal with a constant, in relation, short delay rate, which amplitude decrease more and more over time.
Instead it takes the current audio input, store it into a buffer and than release it after a specific amount of time as it would be there to that point in the arrangement. No echoing, just a pure literally said "delay".
But why is this device called "Extreme Delay"?
Well, as you may know the track delay feature just gives you the ability to delay the tracks content up to 1000 milliseconds (1 second) or just push the tracks content backwards in the time arrangement (means bring it to hear more soon as it usually would do in the arrangement) up to 1000 milliseconds (1 second).
I have to say at this point, that this device can´t make audio tracks content backwards in time so that they will be heard sooner, but instead for this it can delay audio signals after a long time period.
And that´s why it is called "extreme".
In fact you can delay the incoming signal with this M4L-device up to 1 hour in maximum and everything between that and 0 milliseconds.
THIS One is an massive audio effect and it´s possible like by me on the testings, that Ableton Live or Max will crash on executing, when you apply too long delay times, just because of too many data were stored in the buffer or more exactly said your computer´s RAM; So that it takes all the memories capacity for the buffering of the audio away and too less remains for the programs itself.
It highly depends on the Hardware you got, how long or better said how big the buffer and so the delay can be.
But the cool thing on that is: You are just be limited by your Hardware! The Software itself isn´t restricted to a limit (Well for 1 Hour, if this enough:-))
I´ve tested it on my Notebook with 16 Gigabyte Random Access Memory and highly recommend to use this device at minimum with a RAM capacity of 8 Gigabytes.
With the purchase comes also support from me and you get forever free updates for the device. (Yes, i mean forever, even your kids can get updates if they will become the license;-))
Functions in total:
- Time-based delay of the audio input in measurement between 0 milliseconds and 1 hour.
- No echoing/reverberation effect, just a pure "delay".
- You can set the delay in units of milliseconds, seconds or minutes.
- Conversion and Interaction between the units milliseconds (ms), seconds (s) and minutes (min) are gapless.
- Volume Fader for leveling the output delay signal.
- By the way it delivers a converter between milliseconds, seconds and minutes.
- Forever free updates.
- Support from me.
