A Creative Way to Keep Traveling During Covid

Arik Zara, Tour Guide (author of this tour)

Where will you travel? What will you see?

• Yellow Boat • Wonderful Monastery • Ancient Tower • Rhino Shining Elephant • Memorial Wall • Explorers • Plane Crossing the Ocean • Ship Monument • Huge Square • Manueline Church • Delicious Dessert • National Palace • Age of Discoveries • Ancient Sculptures • Beautiful Gardens • more and more

  • Discover Belem independently, in a personalized experience, with the help of a self-guided tour route for a traveler in the northern capital of Portugal, guided by Google Maps. The route will lead you to the main sites of Belem in a logical, fun and well-planned route.

  • It is to use this route and navigate it in combination with Google Maps. The landmark of the route is linked, in the body of the document, to Google Maps and they will allow you a software-guided trip through the city streets. Before you go from one waypoint to the next waypoint, click on the link in the document (or alternatively type in the name of the waypoint in Google Maps) and navigate easily and efficiently according to the software guidelines.

  • This is a PDF file prepared by the guide Eric from "Israeli in Portugal", full of information and guidance. The document includes eye-opening explanations about the sites of this great quarter, which are light-hearted and in-depth. They will allow you to step on the brake on an interesting, waiting and efficient route.

  • Take a tour at a time that suits you, walk at your own pace and stop whenever it is convenient for you. Along the way you will enjoy a shared tour experience with your family and friends, which is fun, full of interest and also laughter.

  • Navigate between 9 points of interest, the best of the best of Belem, including walking to the banks of a river, a beautiful tower, a large garden, a wonderful view and much more. It is a track rich in architecture, history, art and landscapes. There will even be a chance for something very sweet and delicious! With this route, the sense of disorientation in an unfamiliar neighborhood will pass in an instant. It will make you feel like a brake at home, and fast.

  • Belem is a beautiful and impressive district of the city of Lisbon, the temple to a historical period in which Portugal was a world power. I am well acquainted with this district and its historical context, and yet I have decided not to give it a guided tour, but to prepare a written route for an independent tour of Belem.

  • Why without a guide? Brake is convenient and very suitable for an independent tour of the tourist. As a guide, I do not have much to innovate for you there. What you will see in a guided tour with me there, you will also see on an independent trip. The added value of brake instruction, in my opinion, is not high unless the instruction concentrates on lengthy historical and academic reviews, which I think may be too tedious for tourists on a trip. If you want to take part in a guided tour while visiting Lisbon, I think it should be a tour of other areas of the city, where the tour has a high added value.

  • Brake is built on a plain, with very wide roads and easy navigation. So that you can ride the brake efficiently, enjoyably and also wait, I have prepared a written description of a recommended walking route in this great district, and I am happy to share it with you. The description also includes concise theoretical background material and links to posts with more information about sites along the route, and you are welcome to print the materials prior to your visit to the city, so that it will be both fun and waiting.

  • The document includes historical and general information about Belem, its sites and the age of discoveries, all in light and accessible language. So that we can all become wise and learn something new, but also without digging! 🙂 In addition, the document includes maps of the walking route and photos of the sites it visits.

  • Want to see an example of what such a written route looks like? Download the free Google Maps guided tour of Ovid. And here's a link to more self-guided tours of Portugal that Eric wrote.
