Forvantan (Haase Jonnson, Sweden)

I fell in love with Forvantan many years ago at The Meadowlark Music Camp in Maine My presentation is intended to demonstrate the connections between the chord progression, backup and arranging ideas. This is an excellent tune for players of all levels to make those connections. The powerful chord progression provides us with an unusual bass line. The backup is as much fun to play as the melody. I present a simple arrangement and a variety of arranging ideas. Recorded on SunRise (2011) with Mark Grobner and printed in The Sandbridge Waltz and Slow Air Collection (2015).
