It doesn't really matter what the nature of the controversy is - future employers have a lot of people to pick from - why bring someone aboard that could be a source of trouble? It isn't fair but what is? Then you have all the men who are accused of things like this - who don't get their day in court (so to speak. Where I worked - we had 2 hours of sexual harassment training every year - and - there are specific requirements the person who feels they are being harassed - has to meet. There is a difference between inappropriate conduct and harassment. In order for it to be harassment - the victim here - must have told the person they felt was acting inappropriately - how they felt. It is only continuing inappropriate behavior that is considered harassment. Then the supervisors get involved and there are discussions about what was done - where both sides get to speak. Inappropriate behavior in and of itself can be cause for discipline but not necessarily for being fired - as long as corrective measures are taken to see that it stops. In Hollywood - with the MeToo Movement - there were a number of people such as Charlie Rose and Garrison Keeler - who were immediately dismissed from their jobs simply because they had been accused. And - you had people in support of the MeToo movement comment that. if a few innocent men have their lives ruined - well - that's OK.' Also - all of this doesn't mention the flip side. What about all the women - throughout history - who have used sex to get what they wanted? You have men in positions of power having women throw themselves at them seeking their favor - and after a while. they start expecting women to come across. Would these guys be doing this if they didn't think it was going to work.
